No Holy Smoke in Arizona

I opened my 2007 Reason article about religious drug use with the case of Dan and Mary Quaintance, the Pima, Arizona, couple who founded the marijuana-venerating Church of Cognizance. Having unsuccessfully tried to fend off federal marijuana charges by citing the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), they are currently serving five and two to three years, respectively, in federal prison. Last year I noted that another Church of Cognizance member, Daniel Hardesty, was pursuing a religious freedom defense under Arizona law. This week, the Drug War Chronicle reports, the Arizona Supreme Court rejected his claim.

It was a bit surprising that the court agreed to hear Hardesty’s appeal at all, but evidently it wanted to settle the question of whether Arizonans can claim a right to use marijuana as a sacrament, an issue it had never addressed. The details of Hardesty’s case made it easy for the court to say no: He was caught with half an ounce of pot in his car, having just tossed a smoldering joint out the window. The court’s decision (PDF) highlights the fact that Hardesty claimed a right to “smoke and eat marijuana without limit as to time or place,” including “the right to ingest while driving and, presumably, the right to drive while impaired by marijuana.”

Hardesty argued that forbidding him to possess marijuana violates Arizona’s Free Exercise of Religion Act (FERA). That law, similar to the federal RFRA, allows the state to impose a burden on an individual’s exercise of his religion only if it is “the least restrictive means” of furthering a “compelling governmental interest.” The state cited two compelling interests in banning marijuana: “preventing the deleterious health effects associated with marijuana use and combating the danger to public safety and welfare that result from trafficking in marijuana.” Because “Hardesty claims an unlimited religious right to use marijuana when and where he chooses, and in whatever amounts he sees fit,” the court concluded, “in the context of this case, no means less restrictive than a ban will achieve the State’s conceded interests.”

The court said the Native American Church’s peyote rituals, which are protected under federal and state law, differ from Hardesty’s marijuana use in two important ways: They are limited to specific times and places, and they involve a drug for which the black market is tiny compared to the marijuana market. Although that second factor might mean that marijuana, unlike peyote or ayahuasca, will never be permitted as a sacrament, the court left the door open to a claim from someone whose religious use of cannabis is more circumscribed. And unlike the state appeals court, it held that FERA can be cited as a defense against drug charges, though whether such a defense will prevail is another matter.

Danuel and Mary Quaintance, both in their 50s, have been unconstitutionally locked up for practicing their faith, said Daniel Jeffrey, an elder with the Church of Cognizance.
The church operates under the motto: “With good thoughts, good words and good deeds, we honor marijuana: as the teacher, the provider, the protector.”
A federal judge in New Mexico sent the Quaintances to prison earlier this year after they pleaded guilty to two criminal counts related to a 2006 federal arrest — one count of conspiracy with intent to distribute 200 pounds or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of marijuana; and one count of possession with the intent to distribute 100 pounds or more of a substance containing a detectable amount of marijuana; as well as aiding and abetting.
Danuel Quaintance, a 57-year-old Vietnam veteran and retired welder, is serving a five-year sentence at a facility at the Federal Correctional Institute in Terminal Island, Calif., near Long Beach. Mary Quaintance, 54, is serving two years at the Victorville Federal Correctional Complex in Adelanto, Calif.
The Quaintances’ home base is a 4-acre property in Pima, Ariz., which is about 90 miles northeast of Tucson. Their children and grandchildren still live on their property, Jeffrey said.
“Dan and Mary are the heads of their family, and it’s been heartbreaking for everyone,” Jeffrey said. “They are two of the nicest people, with no criminal element whatsoever. They never profiteered from the herb.”
The pair had attempted to have the charges against them dismissed on the grounds that marijuana is part of their religion.
The U.S. Constitution contains no legally recognizable definition of religion, but courts still can apply a test of sincerity.
The couple thought a 2006 U.S. Supreme Court decision on another religious group’s use of hallucinogenic tea would spare them. In that case, the nation’s highest court ruled unanimously that a small religious group based in Santa Fe that combines Christianity and American Indian practices could use hallucinogenic tea in its ceremonies. The tea, called hoasca, contains dimethyltryptamine, or DMT, known for its hallucinogenic properties.
A variety of groups representing millions of members filed briefs supporting O Centro Espirita Beneficiente Uniao Do Vegetal, or UDV, and its use of hoasca — among them the Arizona Civil Liberties Union, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, the National Association of Evangelicals and the Union for Reform Judaism. Some supporters likened banning the tea to a federal ban on sacramental wine.
But federal prosecutors said hoasca case did not apply to the Quaintances. Rather, they argued that religious freedom does not exempt the use of illegal drugs.
A U.S. District Court agreed with the prosecution, and the Quaintances said that’s why they pleaded guilty — without the religion defense, they knew they’d be convicted at trial.
Still, the Quaintances expect an eventual reprieve. Danuel Quaintance has said he believes the case will one day wind up before the Supreme Court.
There’s no evidence the couple ever grew their leafy, green sacrament. Rather, they said they relied on donations of it, which they picked up from church “couriers.” They said that’s what they were about to do when they were arrested in Lordsburg, N.M.
The pair has said they founded their Church of Cognizance in Pima in 1991. During an interview with the Arizona Daily Star in 2006, Danuel said the church had between 40 and 50 members in Arizona, and numerous others scattered throughout the country.
“Marijuana is the averter of death,” he said at the time. “The energy and spirit that is in marijuana is God. You consume the plant, and you consume God. You are sacrificing your body to the deity.”
Jeffrey said the couple’s imprisonment has been crushing to both the church and the integrity of the First Amendment.
“Dan and Mary made a tragic mistake,” Jeffrey said. “They believed there was freedom of religion in the United States.”

In the past two decades, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has spent at least $175 million in direct spending and grants to the states to eradicate feral hemp plants, popularly known as “ditch weed.” The plants, the hardy descendants of hemp plants grown by farmers at the federal government’s request during World War II, do not contain enough THC, the primary psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, to get people high.

According to figures from the DEA’s Domestic Cannabis Eradication/Suppression Program, it has seized or destroyed 4.7 billion feral hemp plants since 1984. That’s in contrast to the 4.2 million marijuana plants it has seized or destroyed during the same period. In other words, 98.1% of all plants eradicated under the program were ditch weed, of which it is popularly remarked that “you could smoke a joint the size of a telephone pole and all you would get is a headache and a sore throat.”

While the DEA is spending millions of tax payer dollars, including $11 million in 2005, to wipe out hemp plants, farmers in Canada and European countries are making millions growing hemp for use in a wide variety of food, clothing, and other products. Manufacturers of hemp products in the United States must import their hemp from countries with more enlightened policies.

“It’s Orwellian that the biggest target of the DEA’s Eradication Program is actually not a drug but instead a useful plant for everything from food, clothing and even auto parts and currently must be imported to supply a $270 million industry,” said Eric Steenstra, president of Vote Hemp, a group lobbying for increased acceptance of the versatile plant. “While Vote Hemp has urged the DEA to recognize the difference between hemp and marijuana so farmers could grow it here, the federal agency is spending millions of dollars to destroy hundreds of millions of harmless hemp plants.”

DEA officials regularly argue that there is no difference between hemp and marijuana, but their own statistics belie that claim. In its reports on the domestic eradication program, the agency clearly differentiates between ditch weed and “cultivated marijuana.”

Not only is the ditch weed eradication program a waste of money, it may even be counterproductive, said Vote Hemp national outreach coordinator Tom Murphy. “Much of the ditch weed eradicated is believed to be burned, turning a carbon consuming plant into a contributor of Greenhouse gasses,” said Murphy in a post-Christmas press release. “For all the effort to find and destroy these harmless wild hemp plants they are coming back year after year. It is likely that the eradication programs help re-seed the locations were ditch weed is found. The late summer timing and removal method causes countless ripe seeds to fall to the ground where they will sprout again the following year.”

PHOENIX – The Arizona Supreme Court says a man isn’t entitled to use a state religious-freedom law to overturn his conviction for possessing marijuana while driving.

The state high court’s unanimous ruling Tuesday rejects Danny Ray Hardesty’s argument that he’s entitled to use the same defense allowed for peyote use in Native American sacramental rights.

This was sent to me from Justin Kander regarding a man in Canada who is curing folks of cancer and various ailments with hemp oil. It certainly demonstrates or alludes to the curative properties of cannabis. Although hemp oil is not the Holy Oil it was an ingredient of the Holy Oil. I can only imagine the curative properties with all the herbs mentioned in Exodus 30:23 if it was ever studied. The Tree of Life is meant to be for the healing of the nations. I am not fully aware of the claims of this person, but it is similar to many accounts of the curative properties of cannabis that I have heard. It is a shame that such curative research is not being done in the United States, but then you could go to prison for that here.

Cannabis has been one of mankind primary medicines for thousands of years (http://www.ukcia.org/culture/history/chrono.php). In its smoked form, cannabis can alleviate pain, nausea, and a multitude of diseases, including glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, and asthma (http://jackherer.com/chapter06.html). Even the pharmaceutical companies have taken notice of cannabis exceptional properties, and have tried to replicate the natural plant with synthetic substitutes (which work far less effectively) (http://www.montananorml.org/med-cancer.php3). The true medicinal potential of cannabis is revolutionary, as it may very well be able to cure the majority of serious diseases, and the first stages of a dramatic reformation are already in motion (Run From the Cure).

The man who is leading the way is named Rick Simpson. He discovered that by extracting and concentrating the essential oils from cannabis, a powerful substance called hemp oil is formed. Hemp oil is also known as cannabis extract oil. For almost the past six years, Rick Simpson has been treating people with hemp oil, and has reported curing cancer, diabetes, pain disorders, and other diseases (Run From the Cure). According to Simpson, hemp oil is even effective in curing cancers deemed terminal by the medical community (Run From the Cure). To the majority of people, these claims seem outrageous, but with a small amount of research and some simple logic, it all makes sense.

First and foremost, it is important to understand the man who started this all. Rick Simpson was born in Springhill, Nova Scotia on November 30, 1949. He went to work at the age of 16, and began a career in power engineering at 18. Simpson continued with this line of work for the rest of his life, until in 1997 when he suffered a work related injury, and was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome (Rick Simpson). As all people are when they go through the medical system, Simpson was prescribed a number of drugs to alleviate his condition, although none of them worked at all; in fact, they worsened his condition considerably (Rick Simpson). In late 1998, Rick watched an episode of he Nature of Things where he saw Dr. David Suzuki interviewing medical marijuana patients who had achieved astounding results. This prompted him to try medical marijuana for himself, and he found that smoking cannabis did more for his condition than any of the pills he was taking. Despite the effectiveness of his self-administered medication, no doctor would give Rick a legal prescription for cannabis. They said it was bad for the lungs so Rick asked his family doctor if it would be better to extract the essential oils from cannabis, as that would be a way to bypass smoking. Despite Rick suggestion, the doctor still would not prescribe him cannabis. Until 2001, Rick continued taking prescription medicines until his doctor told him they did not have anything else to try on him, and there was nothing more they could do. It was then that Rick started using hemp oil as his only medication, and it improved his condition dramatically. In late 2002, Rick was diagnosed with skin cancer, which was present on three parts of his body; two patches on the face and one on the chest. In January 2003, Rick had one area of skin cancer removed surgically, and the other two parts were scheduled to be removed at a later date. Shortly after the surgery, Rick remembered a radio show he had heard in 1975 about how THC killed cancer cells, and since Rick oil was concentrated THC, he decided to try it on himself. He applied hemp oil to bandages and put them directly on to the skin cancers, and in four days, the cancers were gone. Excited, Rick went back to his doctor office to inform them that he had cured himself with hemp oil, but the reaction was alarm (Rick Simpson). The receptionist and doctor, David Forsthner, didnt even want to hear more about a patient who had cured their own cancer. The negative reaction did not hinder Rick in his pursuit. He figured that if hemp oil worked topically, it might also work internally. Subsequently, he tested it on willing participants and saw that it cured internal cancers as well, and it was not necessary that hemp oil only be applied to the skin (Rick Simpson). Through further observation of hemp oil effects, Simpson has found that hemp oil eases pain better than morphine, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol, regulates weight, controls diabetes, heals burns and wounds quickly with no scar tissue, and is effective at treating a myriad of conditions related to defective cells (Run From the Cure).

Rick Simpson activities have gotten attention from the media. In October 2006, Global National News aired a story about Rick activities. Two months later, another story aired on Global Maritimes Evening News (Run From the Cure). Rick also gained publicity from his brush with the law. On August 3, 2005 the RCMP raided Simpson home, arrested him, and took 1,190 cannabis plants (http://www.amherstdaily.com/index.cfm?sid=61850&sc=58). However, this number is false, and the number actually seized was 1,620 (Rick Simpson).
This led to a trial in September 2007, when Simpson went to court for one count of possession of less than 30 grams of cannabis, possession of less than three kilograms of tetrahydrocannabinol for the purpose of trafficking, and unlawful production of cannabis. He was found guilty, but Judge Felix Cacchione did not tell him to specifically stop distributing his medicine (Rick Simpson). However, when discussing the possible sentence, Rick had this to say:
“It may be better to lock me up right now. As soon as I get home I’m going to treat my patients. I’m going to grow that plant until the day I die, so I might as well be put in jail today. I can’t stop in the middle of (treatment). People’s lives are at stake here.” (http://www.amherstdaily.com/index.cfm?sid=63475&sc=58).
Simpson was scheduled to return to court for sentencing on November 30, 2007. However, while awaiting sentencing, Simpson was arrested again for trafficking THC, and was remanded for four days until being released. When Simpson was sentenced for his first charges, he only received one day in custody, which was deemed served by his court appearance, and a two thousand dollar fine. Judge Cacchione explained his decision, saying, “Mr. Simpson has a sincere belief he has a cure with this oil and should be commended, but in reality, he broke the law.” The only reason he did not discharge Simpson was because he thought it would send the wrong message, in that if you do not like a law, you can freely break it without any penalty (http://www.amherstdaily.com/index.cfm?sid=107274&sc=58). In early 2008, Rick went to court again for one count of trafficking THC, and was sentenced to eight days in custody by Judge Carole Beaton, which like in the first case, was deemed served by his remand time. Due to the fact there was no profit involved in Simpson’s activities, he had endured two separate drug charges and got off a free man on the same day of his sentencing (http://www.amherstdaily.com/index.cfm?sid=118088&sc=58). It must be acknowledged that Simpson never sold any hemp oil; he provided it all at his expense, as further exemplified by his court trials (he would not have gotten off if he was selling the oil). He also refused to stop providing hemp oil to patients even after his first arrest. If Simpson’s results were not legitimate, why would he have spent so much money giving away hemp oil, and continued to do so even in the face of harsh penalties?

Simpson has also ran for federal office twice, representing the Cumberland-Colchester-Musquodoboit Valley in the House of Commons. However, he was denied the right to participate in the Truro Chamber of Commerce political debate, despite legally filing his nomination papers and complying with other regulations (http://www.amherstdaily.com/index.cfm?sid=174971&sc=58)

Unfortunately, there has not been enough collective attention to make the public widely aware of hemp oil. Despite this, there are a growing number of people working to spread the message of the medicine. Rick Dwyer, former President of the Maccan Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, attempted to use the organization to promote hemp oil. Dwyer became aware of Rick Simpson when a woman at the Branch told him that Simpson had cured her of cancer. Naturally, Dwyer was interested and contacted Simpson, who showed Dwyer all the support for his work as well as introduced him to a few patients. After seeing this, Dwyer became an immediate supporter of the oil and contacted the Legion Command about coming to look further in to the matter, but they refused. Dwyer and other members of the Legion took it upon themselves to contact politicians, health practitioners, and law enforcement officials to come to a meeting at the Maccan Branch to discuss hemp oil and be presented with scientific, medical, and human evidence regarding it. The day the meeting was planned to commence, Legion Command shut down the branch and suspended Dwyer for trying to promote the illegal medicine (http://www2.canada.com/globaltv/national/story.html?id=70817eb6-a515-4af7-bf0d-3050413f0ebc). Dwyer had an especially strong reason to support hemp oil, as he had seen it save his father, Ed Dwyer. Ed had lung cancer and on June 25, 2006 was given only 24 hours to live. Although he had such a short amount of time left, he took hemp oil and survived (Run From the Cure).

Another man, James LeBlanc, is one of many walking testimonials. After considerable ordeal, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer on May 18th, 2005. Over the next few months, LeBlanc went through surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatments, and on November 30th, the cancer was virtually gone. Tragically, the cancer was found to have returned in October 2006, and this time it had spread throughout LeBlanc’s lymph node system, and it was inoperable and untreatable. In November, LeBlanc was given two months to live, and the only thing that could be done was to prescribe him pain medication to help him cope with the disease. It was in December that LeBlanc became aware of hemp oil, and was brought to Amherst to meet Rick Simpson, although he was initially skeptical of the endeavor. After listening to Rick, LeBlanc’s hopes were raised and he started the oil on January 1st, 2007. On April 4th, LeBlanc had his first CT scan since starting the oil and received the results on April 24th. The doctor presented James with extremely good news; not only was the cancer not spreading, but it was dying from the outside inward. By late July, the second CT scan showed that only a small bit of cancer remained, and by the final CT scan in December, the cancer was completely gone (PhoenixTears). James LeBlanc’s case exemplifies the full potential of hemp oil, and the evidence shows that if this medicine was used at the first signs of cancer, nobody would ever have to die from it again. Keep in mind that LeBlanc is not an exception; Rick has cured many people of terminal cancer. In all cancers, both terminal and non-terminal, Rick has reported a virtual 100% success rate in curing people who have had little or no chemotherapy, and 80% for those who have experienced extensive chemotherapy (Rick Simpson). As is known, chemotherapy kills healthy and cancerous cells, and there is a limit that every human has as to how much they can take before there is no going back, even with hemp oil (http://www.cancerhelp.org.uk/help/default.asp?page=186).

Hemp oil can be made by anyone with access to the proper materials. Ideally, hemp oil should be made from high quality cannabis indica, as indica is good for relaxation and sleeping while sativa is better for energy. It is always better for someone with a serious disease to be resting instead of moving around. Technically any cannabis can be used, but low potency cannabis creates less oil. From a pound of high quality buds, about two ounces of hemp oil can be made, and this is enough to cure most cancers. The process of making hemp oil is similar to making other types of cannabis extract oils, although Simpson went through many pounds of cannabis perfecting his process. One starts by placing the starting materials in a plastic bucket and filling it with a solvent (Simpson uses naphtha, but other solvents such as 99% isopropyl alcohol can be utilized). The mixture is then repeatedly crushed with a wooden stick or similar device, and doing this extracts the essential oils from the plant matter. The first wash extracts approximately 80% of the cannabinoids, and a second wash retrieves the other 20%. The solvent-oil mix should then be poured through a coffee filter in to a clean container. From there, the solvent needs to be boiled off, which can be done by utilizing a rice cooker. After the solvent is almost finished evaporating, a few drops of water should be added to the mixture, as this helps facilitate the final evaporation and protect the oil from too much heat. After this, the almost-completed oil should be put on a light heating device until all activity on the surface of the oil is gone. At this point, the medicine is ready to be used, and should be contained in a bottle or plastic syringe. The only potential danger of making hemp oil is the fumes released when the solvent is evaporating; if a spark occurs in the work area, a fire can start. This danger can be avoided by making the oil carefully and ensuring that there are no open flames or sparks (PhoenixTears). If hemp oil was produced commercially, there would be no danger whatsoever.

Rick Simpson’s results have shown that cannabis truly is the cure for cancer. In addition, there have been numerous scientific studies showing that THC has anti-cancer properties (see links at the end of the article), so it is not that far a leap to suggest that highly concentrated THC would have exceptionally strong cancer killing effects. In addition, hemp oil is not just THC. The cannabis plant contains over sixty therapeutic cannabinoids, all of which are present in concentrated form in hemp oil (http://www.medicalmarijuanainformation.com/incanada). THC and all the cannabinoids work together in synergy to produce hemp oil’s miraculous results. Also, in the history of cannabis smoking, there has not been one case of lung cancer ever reported, despite the possibility that cannabis smoke does contain as many or more carcinogens than cigarette smoke (http://www.webmd.com/lung-cancer/news/20060523/pot-smoking-not-linked-to-lung-cancer). Therefore, it is logical that there could be something inherently counteracting the carcinogens within cannabis, and stopping cancer from ever forming.

I have been in contact with Rick Simpson for almost a year now, and from my perspective, he is the most honest and reputable man I have ever spoken to. In the course of my hemp oil research, I have also talked with doctors, cannabis dispensary owners, other hemp oil distributors, James LeBlanc, and Jack Herer, who strongly supports Simpson and has even dedicated a page to him on his website (http://jackherer.com/rick.html). Hemp oil is the means to achieving cannabis legalization, and much more importantly, the key to ending the suffering of millions of people around the world and improving the quality of life for every human on this planet.

My answer is no. It is my opinion that the Roman Empire converted to what they were used to, nearly 1800 years ago. This was Mithra. I have fully discussed this on my other blog. As to current day and even the inquisition, I think it is an extension of the blood and torture committed by the same Roman Empire. There is no understanding of the true Jesus without the history of the Roman Catholic Church. Perhaps he planned that way. Consider his statement regarding the “Mystery Babylon”. Well you assume there were hallucinations being used here and perhaps they were in their natural state. Personally I have never considered cannabis to be a hallucinogen. For me if there was any deity in history it was a God of Love, mercy, and forgiveness, which was so profoundly discussed by Jesus Christ. He condemned the God of Blood sacrifice.

You question that if introduction of the “holy” plant into the big picture detracts from the Holy Saviour? Well why would a plant of God do that? The knowledge of this would certainly be known by a divine being especially for healing purposes. Now understand natural hallucinations do exist. I am not here to dispute that and they may have been used. But the Holy Oil is clear and Jesus used this very oil for healing and anointing, there is just no doubt about it in my mind. Does the use of the Holy Oil by Jesus diminish his divinity in your mind?

Strange that someone such as you would come here to comment at this time. It is even more strange that I was checking out comments held in moderation the very day your comment was posted. Note that all comments with URL links are held in moderation and for the past 12 months I have been lucky to check them twice or three times. By the way there was no need to register. I just found an interesting video on Henry Ford and his plans and actions to use Hemp to run his cars. This states that Hemp has no THC which is totally inaccurate. I have found some time to revamp the freeanointing.org website and I will be adding this under the Henry Ford’s portion of my website as well as the revamping of the rest of the website over the next several months and years. This will happen as I can find the time to work on it.

Understand that my major focus here is the Holy Oil, and ancient Christianity. However I think it is important to begin to gain support in this effort to include more groups with different thoughts other than my own. You know these efforts are across the web and quite fragmented in a unified effort to free cannabis for religious use or any other use including medical purposes. My film covers medicinal use both in ancient Christianity and a bit in modern day medicinal use. There are other religious and or medical groups out there who seek the same objectives but with differing beliefs and or goals. Groups such as Hempcar.org, Christians for Cannabis, NORMAL, and others are acting independently with little regard on the total issue here. I have to think about the statement “United we Stand, Divided we Fall”. I therefore welcome statements from other groups which I may be able to include in this website. My efforts here are not even noted in most sites with-in this effort. I think it is time to have a unified effort. Perhaps if we joined together we could move this along. We could have links and cross links to each others sites, webrings are a possibility. In 3 years I have only had a few comments here, which I understand, as few people understand ancient Christianity. Religious cannabis groups and medical groups are denied to even make a religious or medical use argument in court. Why can’t we work together? Certainly Genesis 1:29 is very important to me as well as the Holy Oil and incense. I think it is time to organize and work toward the common goal. I welcome any input within National, Global, or Local groups. We could announce festivals or meetings locally, or pending criminal lawsuits with National significance. Perhaps we could meet in local areas. I would be willing to speak at some of these, even if it is just over the speaker phone. Let me know what your thoughts are. There is a new case going before the Arizona Supreme Court on religious use of cannabis. This may be a break through legally. I wish them the best of luck.

The story is as follows: 1-9-09

The Arizona Supreme Court agreed Tuesday to decide whether there is a religious right to possess marijuana. The issue is being raised in Arizona v. Hardesty, in which Daniel Hardesty, a member of the Church of Cognizance, an Arizona-based church that practices neo-Zoroastrian tenets and believes marijuana provides spiritual enlightenment and a connection to the divine mind.

Hardesty was arrested for marijuana possession after being stopped for a burned out headlight in 2005 and convicted of marijuana and paraphernalia possession in district court despite arguing that First Amendment protections of the free exercise of religion entitled him to use and possess marijuana as a sacrament in his church. Hardesty appealed, but lost in the appeals court as well.

In rejecting Hardesty’s appeal, the appeals court held that while he has the right to believe what he wants, the First Amendment protections do not give him the right to commit criminal offenses for religious reasons. The appeals court also said the legislature has a legitimate interest in banning marijuana and the courts should not second-guess the legislature.

If the state Supreme Court overturns the lower court decisions, it will be the first time an Arizona court has allowed for the religious use of marijuana — but not the first time an Arizona court has allowed for the religious use of a controlled substance. Arizona courts have ruled repeatedly that the possession of peyote for religious purposes by the Native American Church is allowable.

The appeals court argued that was different. With peyote, there was never any finding that the cactus was addictive or being used in quantities harmful to the health of participants. Also, peyote was used by a “discrete and well-defined group,” the court held. Now, one of these months, we’ll see if the state Supreme Court agrees.

To Cathie: Thank you for your beautiful statement. I agree with you totally. Regarding my dying, It isn’t now, but what I was trying to say before is I will not be with you forever. Certainly everyone faces death in life, but I think I was referring to separation. There are writings within this study that talk about those who receive the mysteries, and particularly the Fire baptism and the holy oil, will not face death but become a light stream upon separation with the body. Jesus talks about another mystery where death is faced until the first resurrection. “He that believeth in me, though he was dead, yet shall he live.” All that is needed here is belief. With the Fire baptism it was believed that you would not face death at all, but only separation of the physical body.

To Garry Minor: Thanks for stopping by. It IS too bad I can’t get the “Fire Baptism” on primetime TV. Perhaps one day it will be. If it is meant to be, it will be. I was given the power to make the film and put up this website. Everything that I tried to do beyond that, just never went. I worked for a year to get press on this but it never happened. I tried to make a DLT master tape and my computer fried. I tried to rebuild the film on another computer but my efforts failed. I bought a brand new Dell media center computer and it fries every time I plug one of my cameras in it. It gets to the point that you just cannot go further. I certainly do not have the funds to even attempt to go further. So for the moment this project is what it is, and anything beyond that is up to God.

I agree with you Angela, 100%. But I thought allowing a little humor was OK, along with a proclamation of love. Few people have even come forward to debate most of this stuff. To everyone else here, you know millions were murdered during the inquisition simply because they believed differently than the norm. We have had millions in prison over cannabis. Religious users are denied the basic Human right to practice religion as they see it should be done. I have seen dozens of folks in the past few years denied to even make a religious use case.

I felt this project was very important to do. Christianity was about love mercy and forgiveness. Yet seldom do I find Christians behaving like this. Why is it so difficult to believe that a plant of God was meant to be a sacrament? Especially a plant such as hemp which was so important in the ancient world. Certainly the Holy Oil is very important to me. If they call me a warlock, a KABBALAHIST, a Liar, or a WIZARD as this man just has, then I should Jump for joy as Jesus stated, because they crucified him for what he stated.

I am just a simple man and I will not be with you forever. But perhaps my words will be with you for a while. As I look towards the ends of my life, I think of the 23rd Psalm which has very important significance to the Fire Baptism. Perhaps some of you have read it and perhaps others will read it.

Thanks for your comments. I thought they were lucid and good comments and I will try to answer them. Um, I cannot go further than my own research here, but it seems to me that the Holy Oil of God is well defined in the Bible. We also have ancient Christian Fathers discussing Moses giving the Holy Oil unto Aaron whence he becomes called Christ.

“After the water Baptism, we are thoroughly anointed with a blessed Unction or (anointing), a practice derived from the old discipline, wherein on entering the priesthood, then we were wont to be anointed with oil from a horn, ever since Aaron was anointed by Moses, whence Aaron was called Christ. Tertullian “On Baptism”

We have other ancient Christians stating that being anointed with the Holy Oil is how we are called Christians because they have received the Holy Oil of God. An example is the Gospel of Phillip.
“The Chrism or (anointing) is superior to baptism, for it is from the word chrism that we are called Christians.”

We have other statements that the Holy oil is the fire in the fire baptism. An example is Cyril of Jerusalem.

I have stated before several times that if you deny the Holy Oil of God then you deny the Title Christ for Jesus.

OK, in the last year I have read about the mistranslation of kaneh bos in the Holy Oil formula, as well as an article reporting a Hebrew Scholar’s revelation that Moses received the Ten Commandments under the influence of hallucinogens, (I know the word is “Entheo-gen”-containing God, but devil’s advocate again.), and another similar story about the Burning Bush.

I just wanted to make a statement about Buddy Lepps, a Rastafarian Priest and a supplier of Medical MJ to my knowlege. This man was denied even the right to use a religious use defence. Now the Rastas have been around for hundreds of years. It has been a religion for HUNDREDS of years. Why are we denied to even argue a religious use case in this??????

You know the whole thing has had me upset all week.

Well as to razrabotka saitov comments it appears we have yet another Russian comment. I dont speak russian or slovakian, nor can I comment on it.

But to Rev. Joshua I have read your comments and I would like to comment as well. You lay out some interesting scripture regarding the Holy Incense. I have commented on this before. With all my research in this I have not had a smoking gun to show that cannabis was part of the incense. The exception of this is the Kaneh bosem in the Holy Oil. But I can lay out a few other indicators of this contention in addition to your own comments.

Lets talk about the moriah which represents the tree of life. Strange it has 7 candles much like the cannabis plant. The tree of life is taken away at some point in history and is foretold to be returned along with the Holy Oil.

The tree of life is mentioned to have 12 gifts. The cannabis plant certainly had these charactistics especially in the ancient world. It provided oil for the lamps, food, Ropes, sail, rigging, clothing, religious use, medicinal use, which are all historical facts, along with many other uses. It is even mentioned that folks were buried in kaneh shirts. Perhaps that should be interesting to some.

The holy oil with this much Kaneh Bosem in it and being poured upon the incense is yet another indicator. Certainly the baptism in all othodox religions had incence being burnt. The Holy incense was thought to send prays of the group directly before the Mercy Seat of God.

The Holy Incense along with the holy oil are fore told to be returned in Revelations.

It is my belief that there was only 2% cannabis in the incense while being covered in the Holy Oil. I have previously spoken on this in these blogs.

You have already mentioned the Rastafarians and the apperent Ethiopian traditions of religious use of cannabis.

Perhaps folks here can give many more proofs. I certainly do from my studies here. But lets try to spur a conversation. Interesting topic!!!!

I have pretty much already done what I can on the Fire Baptism. All you have to do is read what I have already written on the web site. But the Holy Incense as never been fully explored here and it is important to understand the untire issue.

My Basis for using burnt or smoked Cannnbis in Christian Ritual comes in part from the following.

Rastafari, and in particular the EZCC have apparently used burnt offerings of Cannabis for at least centuries for their Communion in Christ. It is even referred to by them as the Blood of Christ. See Town v. State ex rel. Reno, 377 So.2d 648 (Fla. 1979)

I interpret the Burning Bush of Moses as Communion through Cannabis.

The Gospel accounts of the transfiguration of Jes-us seem to support this interpretation as well.

I wanted to welcome everyone new here who has commented. I have not had much time to look at the discussion for a while. I would like to address what I can briefly.

To Eric: In you last comments you state: “The God of the Old Testament is a sham as well.” This is after you call me and this project a sham. Jesus preached of a God of Love, Mercy, and Forgiveness. Yet he preached from the Old Testament. May I suggest you think on this. As to the rest of your comments I will let the readers and God form their own judgements upon me.

To all others in this recent discussion, it is very interesting. You know there are many religions out there. I am simply an ancient Christian historian. All of us have religious experiences. Some may be produced by entheogens, yet they are still all religious experiences. I thought Cathie had the most profound comments here regarding all this.

Regarding the Fire Baptism, the fire in ancient Christianity was being anointed with the Holy Oil of God. The anointing is only necessary once. It is the seal of God. To understand the meaning of all this you really need to understand everything here. Once long ago, I read Exodus regarding the Holy Oil, and thought to myself that there is not one mainstream church offering the Holy Oil of God. I had other experiences as well. What it led me to, was an understanding of true early Christianity and the changes of it through the centuries.

I have never had a large amount of the oil on me at one time, but the method I have come to use is that of smoking and then afterward sealing by anointing with the oil. I have used both the oil and the burnt sacrament on myself and others. I have used this fire baptism method on myself in Exorcism (more properly baptism for the dead) where I ask the dead to receive the baptism through my body. This is accompanied with instructions to forgive all resentments and enter the light of louv and forgiveness.

I recently used it in a baptism for a Brother out at Sturgeon Bay, just below Cross Village. There were three of us there at the baptism and the ceremony included Native American (Odawa/[A]Nishnaabe) elements as well.

On the legal matters, hopefuly very soon things will change, activism is alive and well, but in these times using the sacrament has become increasingly dangerous and there are many who feel that they have no choice, but to abandon the use of the sacrament all together.

I don’t think think anyone can blame them though.

I too have been in the legal spiderweb you speak of, because of knh bsm.
Though I haven’t used in a long time, it is the only thing I ever “used” that I still miss to this day. As far as the mushroom, I went there, and I saw enough to make me believe. I guess in a sense, meeting a devil face to face COULD be a catalyst for a desire of intensified closeness with the Holy Spirit. And I did notice during the mushroom episodes, that a few tokes definitely HELPED to curb the fear.
Have you ever actually done the Sacrament? with the oil all over you?

About the spelling of louv and Goud: These are the spellings of the Ethiopian Zion Coptic Church. They resonate with me so I use them. At first I thought it was on account of Dutch influence of the Caribbean, but that wasn’t really sufficient because goud means gold in Dutch fold = voud, falt = vout etc. Brother Carl Olsen wrote that it was because other religions leave you = u out. I’ve also seen him write that it doesn’t matter how you spell it as long as you really mean it.

Although I know I’m not the first person in my family to practice magic (Mennonites and Amish have probably practiced faith healing [braucherei] since they have been around), I was the first that I know of to become involved with an occult order. Aquino as a break away from Anton Lavey’s United Church of Satan. They attempt to use Lucifer as an archetype for personal evolution much in the same way that the Rune Gild attempts to use Oden.
The Rune songs were powerful and power and knowledge was what I was seeking.

I developed an intimate knowledge of many languages (mostly Germanic). I had always used Cannabis as my favorite spiritual and mental tool even though the tradition I was involved in used Mead (honey wine) as it’s main sacrament. One day a friend gave me some material by Chris Bennet and some info about Roger Christie. I already had a criminal case involving Cannabis, going at that time. I started doing research into the Semitic languages and was soon convinced on an academic level. I was eventually convicted in two criminal cases. And I was very angry with the people who I thought had treated me so unfairly. I was going to become a force to be reckoned with and they would be sorry. One day while studying and using the sacrament, my heart just melted like wax. I now forgive these people and I feel louv and forgiveness because of that. I would say that the most important things for me are to remember that Goud, louv and forgiveness all come from within.

I would say that the most important stuff is going to come from within rather than something from outside of ourselves. Do I believe that the Holy Oil and the sacrament of burnt offering (ganja) are important? I sure do. I also believe that they are a large part of the prophecy. Still, I don’t believe that one has to be called by these things to live righteously.

It seemed to me like everything had a trailer like an aura, but almost a fluid.

I believe Goud can talk to anybody in just about anyway conceivable, but I don’t think that that is the same thing as that which is described in New and Old Testament Baptisms.

Dr. Carl Ruck has written about his suspicions that Amanita Muscaria (a deadly poisonous mushroom) was used in early Christianity. He even talks about early works of art depicting a basket of mushrooms at the last supper.

It is more of a “passion” piece and less of a “hard research” piece though, and contains anti-501c3, anti-masonic, and anti-New World Luciferian Order parts in it as well;
(1) but as I was writing, a “bomb” went off in my head… do you believe it possible that the “demonization” of cannabis, in this modern world where even hard science has proven its harmless-ness and medicinal benefits, is due to the known connection of cannabis to the TRUE anointing, and that since in reality the Luciferian World Order, born here in the USA (OK, Bavaria), has in its agenda THE DESTRUCTION OF CHRISTIANITY, that by keeping the Chrismation illegal, they are doing their part to destroy the Body of Christ from the inside out?
(2) My other question concerns a post I read up above, saying that OTHER entheogenic plants can produce the same Fire Baptism, but that some others do not… the reason for my concern, my desire for educated opinions from others, and most importantly FOR ASKING THE QUESTION HERE, is because of a series of literally life-changing experiences I had in my 20s, experiences which I have spent over 20 years trying to decipher. (I’m now 45.) I am speaking of native Arkansas stropharia cubensis mushrooms.
In my 20s I was not particularly religious, nor was I overly concerned with “God, angels, demons, etc.” I was an amateur rock musician, I smoked pot regularly, I had experienced LSD enough times to be familiar with the visual and auditory components thereof. I was a loner, no real friends, and AT THIS TIME was in the throes of depression following a painful breakup. I was lonely. This is merely the backdrop of the scene.
In this same time period, I had discovered a field where the cubensis grew, and had been “shown the ropes” as far as how to find them (and not the poisonous ones.)
For a period spanning about two years, I had many “journeys” if you will… when they were in season… increasingly more intense each time. Always alone… I had tried once to use them with friends, but could not… I had to be completely alone every time. I was uneasy around people when I used them. The first thing I noticed about psilocybin was that (as opposed to LSD) literally everything I saw, everything I heard, everything I felt, seemed to be consistent, and being projected at me by some sort of REAL intelligence trying to communicate with me. Also I noticed a consistently intense “FEAR OF GOD AND DEMONS” that seemed to accompany each “trip.” As I would be “coming down,” I always for some reason found myself clutching this Bible of mine, even though under influence the words were quite illegible to me. But DEEP in my soul of souls, I could not shake the FEAR that this intelligence may not be of GOD! But because of the unbelieveably SPIRITUALLY OVERWHELMING FEELING, I kept going back again and again. The VERY first unique thing I noticed about the mushroom visuals was the consistency of PERFECT HEXAGRAMIC SHAPE in literally everything; it was as if a hexagram had been used as a template for every visual kinetic pattern that I saw. I remember being amazed at the beauty of it all, amazed at how even though I was not previously obsessed with anything having to do with hexagrams, they were coming at me from out of the woodwork, and I know this shape was being projected FROM SOMEWHERE! I eventually started hearing voices when under the influence… heavily phaser-flanged and “effected” if you will, not in any languange I’d ever heard, aside from the predominance of the “umlaut” vowel sound heard in German. (I don’t speak it but can recognize it.) After several “trips” with so much consistency, I found myself trying to MIMIC these syllables whenever I heard them, my body trembling all over, and not knowing why nor how. (I should mention that at this time I knew absolutely nothing about Pentacostals, anointings, or tongues… I was raised a southern Baptist.)
Then in later trips, the “hexagramic constant” which I had by then come to assume was inherent in the “mushroom spirit,” began to metamorphose into THREE DIMENSIONS. Now, instead of hexagrams, I was always seeing a very unique 3D hexagramic solid, spinning on an ever changing axis of rotation. (20 years later I discovered on line that this solid has a name… it’s called the Merkaba. That alone took 20 years for me to learn.). The solid would constantly change it’s color patterns, and constantly change it’s direction and rotation axis… and a few times I actually found myself INSIDE the Merkaba, watching it spin around me.
I have no idea if any of this is making a bit of sense to you, but for years I have considered writing about it… it’s just hard to write about something that is SO FAR REMOVED from normal reality.
The last time I ever used them… and there was good reason for this… happened about two years after the FIRST time I used them… all the familiar components were there, the hexagrams, the Merk solid, the voices, my babbling attempts to mimic them, the “spiritual overwhelming,”
the FEAR… to these components was added one last “revealing” if you will.
And it was the last thing I wanted revealed. I was so afraid… SORE AFRAID… I cannot even adequately express it in words. I never saw his entire body, only parts of it. It was part bird and part human-oid. First I saw his face, as if he was peeking at me from behind a veil of some kind. He put his face up close to mine. I saw a human looking face with a piercing gaze, burning a hole through me, but a beak as well. The face would get close, then back away… then I saw him fly over my head a few times, and then finally he just waved and fanned his irradescent wings over me as if from behind me. The wings were indescribably beautiful, in a constantly changing array of light and irradescent colors. Yet still, I have never since then been so afraid in my life! Not even normal fears, like fear of pain or injury, but DEEP FEAR, fear for my soul. Closing my eyes and darkening the room only made it more intense. I did everything in my power to make it go away… especially prayer! But it would not leave me. It was with me for the next few hours. I never touched them again.
Despite all the “demon-fear” I experienced in those journeys, I still even today believe that those experiences “sealed the deal” in my soul, as far as my belief in God, angels, demons, etc. Up til then I had only READ about spirits, as opposed to actually seeing, hearing, and feeling them.
Discernment? Well, that is the million dollar question. Could this be considered a fire baptism? With no “guides” with me to steer my experience, it was just me and the mushroom, and whatever spirit happened by… but still I don’t think my faith in Christ would be as strong without those fear experiences under my belt. I wanted to share that and ask for other people’s take on it. Thank you, and I’m sorry for the lengthy post.

Brother Chris Bennet has been complaining about the deletion and suppression of information regarding articles of his and by others. Wikipedia seems to have many problems of this sort. I don’t know the first thing about technology or the internet, but perhaps the best we can do is to make sure we post the information on sites that are run by people in our communities who support the content. I am not suggesting that we should not be complaining about the suppression, but I don’t know what would be the proper action to take. Leaving the information vulnerable to tampering from people unwilling to do quality research just seems ill-advised to me. I don’t know if there is a remedy to the Wikipedia censoring, but at this point I am not holding my breath.

I’ve never been called cheap by clergy in all my life for wanting a video that explained their beliefs. It’s not a matter of not affording, it’s a matter of I don’t use banking and credit systems, and it’s not for sale anywhere I can buy it with cash.

AND, as long as you continue to charge money for the truth and the oppressors and ignorant hand their mis-information out freely, the only chance the Holy Oil will return is if there is a HUGE and COMPLETE system remodel, and prohibition is thrown out with it, legalizing it via technicality.

Take comfort that God will give you time to improve yourself.

All the information on this issue is on freeanointing.org free for the reading. I really dont care if you are too lazy to read it. But thousands of others do read it every month. This project is not shelved by any means. It remains a grass roots movement and it will gain strength. It has to because the Holy Oil is prophesied to be returned.

No I dont think it ever will be made as a streaming video. Over a year ago my computer fried along with much of the film. I can sill produce the DVD as that portion of the film survived. So unless you order the DVD you cannot see it. As I told you before, the full script of the film is on my website along with alot more for free. Also there are two very long previews on Pot TV under enteogens 101. That is about all I can do for you.

Two years have come and gone and I still wish to see the truth on here. Maybe I sound cheap (it’s because I don’t/can’t order things online), but I can walk into ANY other church around here and get free pamphlets, videos, bibles and much more about their beliefs…as wrong as they may be.

I have recently been told that portions of my film were just played on TBN in “Ancient Secrets of the Bible” I have not seen it, and it was used without my permissions. I guess someone out there has been checking it out. I bet the kaneh bosem potions were omitted. I would love to see it but I do not know which episode used it and I am not going to buy all 20 or more episodes of it to find it. Too bad they didnt just have the guts to interview me. But then they really are not after the truth, are they? If they were I guess it would have been shown there already.

You are perhaps one of my favorite friends here. I hear your comments and you are in this fight. I respect that. But what is going on here is far more important than a simple legal battle. We are talking about the Holy Oil of God!!!!!! We are talking about the fulfillment of prophesy. We can decide here which direction we will go. Is it a legal battle????? Or is this a fundamental human right to be a Christian????

I guess I have hoped that a simple legal battle would resolve this. But it wont. You have to change the hearts of men and women on this. When they seek the truth they will change it all. It is the information and truth of the matter that will produce change.

I would say that there is a really strong religious claim to be made here in the United States (with perhaps the exception of India where Cannabis leaves have been exempted from international laws and treaties for religious reasons, I would say maybe the strongest on Earth), but that it is verry difficult to make and to understand how to do it you pretty much have to become a legal and constitutional scholar. We are waiting for the Eighth Circuit Court of Appels to come back with a decision on Carl Olsen’s case and it should be coming back any time now. As you say, the Lord allmighty is opposed by anti-christ, as are we who choose to hear the Lord’s voice in all of its louv and compassion.

I am not sure what either of you are trying to say in this discussion. Perhaps you could enlighten me on how these comments relate to this discussion????? This is a serious discussion on the Bible, the Fire Baptism, and the Holy Oil. I live in the United States of America. Though it is basically not permitted to make a religious use case here on the Holy Oil, there is still the right to freedom of speech. That is all I am doing here.

In 2 years I have not found anyone willing or able to debate it with any level of knowlege. Why is that???? Are we afraid to simply discuss it???? Is it too much to discuss the fact that there is 6 pounds of marijuana in the Holy Oil as described in Exodus???? Jesus and the desciples used this very oil for anointing and healing. Yet making a full batch of the Holy Oil could send you to 30 or more years in prison in many places including here. Does anyone here understand the meaning of anti-christ?????

Thank you for your post. I do not supply the Holy oil. I did make a small amount when I was doing the film for my family and friends for the anointing, and for some, the complete Fire Baptism. I have detailed how to make it in these blogs. Be careful to check your local countries laws. I see no reason why a smaller amount cannot be made as compaired with the 6 pounds as described in Exodus. Some disagree with that. But I have seen no Christian Text where making a smaller amount is forbidden.

As to the free anointing oil, this is misunderstood appearently. What I am doing here is to make the statement that making the Holy Oil of God is Illegal nearly Globally. I am simply demanding that the Governments of the World free the Holy Oil of God. As is on my banner, on my front page, I state: Working to return the Holy Oil of God as is described in Exodus 30:23.

Thank you for your post. What you bring up here is very extensive to answer properly. Before I go on let’s look at some points here where we can find common ground perhaps or where we disagree. Then we can go further here later.

RE: Myrrh……. Myrrh comes from the balsam plant and is a dried sap. It was known as the pain killer tree by the ancient nomads and was used as a medicine as well as all of the other original ingredients of the holy oil. This mostly dissolves when boiled into olive oil.

Calamus is known as herbal ecstasy. What few researchers here know is that Calamus was used in the Holy Oil after 2nd Temple. There is a king (I forget his name) who murdered all the Temple priests due to worship and the burning of incense on high hills. It is my opinion that this is where the Kaneh bosem was taken out. I can go further here but I would need to look at it again first. But there is little doubt about it based on Vendal Jones and early Jewish writings that the Temple was absent of flies. Calamus is deadly to flies. There is also little doubt that Kaneh Bosem was used in the original Holy Oil and it is cannabis. The ties to this oil being used by Jesus rather than the Calamus oil is based on a Gnostic writing that states the holy oil had the same power as the soma which is documented to contain cannabis as well as the word Kaneh Bosem it self. Certainly I believe that Jesus used the Holy Oil given by Moses. Certainly the Holy Oil would have been a powerful curing tool.

RE the art of apothecary……There is no text that I have ever found in my 30 years of research that details how to make the holy oil other than Exodus 30:23. Apothecary is defined as the art of the perfumer. In fact the Holy oil is described as perfume in Exodus. I purchased a book on ancient apothecary. Nearly all was boiling flowers or herbs into some sort of natural oil. There is chemistry there but we are looking at something that was going on 3000 years ago. This was during exodus from Egypt. These would have been, as found commodities in the desert or in nature as they traveled.

I have already written in previous posts with in this website how I think it should be made and I have made it in the past for my family and friends. It is a wonderful smelling oil. It is an honor for me to find out about all this and give it to the world. The incense is slightly different however.

RE the incense: I burn the holy oil in prayer on regular incense. However I have heavily studied this issue. The incense is also prophesied to be returned in Revelations. It was thought to send the prayers of the group directly before the mercy seat of God. I would make the incense but there is a mollusk shell that only comes from the Red Sea and is not available commercially. There are 8 ingredients implied in Exodus. The first are in the perfume. Then four more are indicated. It is my opinion that there was 2 percent cannabis here along with the holy oil. Do you remember in the Bible at Pentecost they were accused of being drunk? Perhaps red eyed was more accurate. By second temple the incense had 13 ingredients. That is documented.

First, I must deeply thank you for your diligent, conscientious work, investment and concentration on this subject of the Holy Anointing Oil.

I believe you are very much ‘on point’ with your re-interpretation of Revelation around this model, and about the concealment of this truth from the world and it’s importance to our future and development.

I also totally agree that THC (the active chemical in Cannabis) was one of the constituents of the Holy Anointing Oil.

However, for several years, i have been an experiential chemist and psycho-active explorer, studying the effects of a wide range of psychoactive chemicals, most of which can be extracted from ordinary plants. My own investigation into the oil started between June the 6th-12th 2007, exactly 40 years or 1 generation after the 6-day war that re-established Israel with her biblical lands (or the fig tree putting forth branches). The timing of the connection shocked me due to it having been prophecied by Jesus in his Olivet Prophecy (Mark 13, Matthew 24, Luke 21).

The speculation that I would like to put forward for discussion and for further investigation is that the HAO actually contained several psychoactive, dermatologically transferable chemicals, extracted from plants and specifically designed to alter the consciousness of kings, prophets, etc to align them with the ‘Spirit of God’. In essence, to access a super-human, God-like state of consciousness where the authors of the Bible could channel divinely inspired writings of which it is composed.

The first clue to this is the use of the world ‘Apothecary’ in the text of Exodus 30. This is literally translated ‘chemist’ and indicates a hidden knowledge of alchemy and psychoactive preparation which has proliferated throughout history and must surely have been a tradition handed down in ancient cultures as it is in almost every other indigenous tribes and cultures around the world.

For more information on psychoactives and how to extract them from plants, I highly recommend ‘PiKHAL’ and ‘TiKHAL’ by Alexander Shulgin, who has recently re-invented, categorised, named and provided experiential reports about a wide range of Phenethylamines and Tryptamines.

Firstly, I must make a correction to the mention of ‘Trimethoxyamphetamine’ on your website. This can indeed be extracted from the aeserone in Calamus in a 3 step filtration process, but it is NOT ECSTASY.

Ecstasy is Methylenedioxy-N-Methylamphetamine (or MDMA) and can be extracted from the Sasafrass plant. Trimethoxyamphetamine from Calamus (or TMA-2 to give the proper abreviated chemical name) is a completely different compound with completely different effects that would be far more appropriate for a HAO ingredient. Sometimes called ‘Mescalamphetamine’, TMA-2 is the most potent form of phenethylamine or mescaline-type psycho-active with a clean, clear thinking amphetamine effect and no come-down or neurotoxicity as with Ecstasy or MDMA. I am perfectly happy to accept that Kaneh Bosm is not this substance, but even the mention of Calamus in the Greek makes me consider this worthy of further investigation as a possible ingredient at some time.

I believe thorough investigation of the word Myrrh also needs to be made – this word means ‘tree sap’ or ‘bitter’ in Hebrew – the current understanding of this word is of a perfume extracted from the Commiphora myrrha plant, which is sweet, immediately causing an etymological inconsistency. It’s also unsuitable for eating or drinking. It seems odd to me the Mark mentions this as a drinkable substance:

“And they brought him to the place called Gol’gotha (which means the place of a skull). And they offered him wine mingled with myrrh; but he did not take it.”

- Mark 15:22,23 RSV

I speculate that ancient Myrrh was actually formulated from Acacia tree sap, which is bitter and a similar red colour, mentioned as ‘Shittim wood’ all over the bible and contains a very important psycho-active called DMT.

DMT is the chemical that is released in our pineal glands upon death. I believe it assists our soul (or life energy) reconnecting with God (or the greater unity of everything).

I theorise that Myrrh may have been a mixture of DMT and possibly other enzyme inhibitors called Harmine or Hamaline (which can be extracted from Syrian Rue) which prevent DMT breakdown. Reading the book of Enoch confirms earlier uses of this Myrrh and Bedoin tribes in the middle east still use this with DMT.

Calamus – May have actually included calamus as you can extract a drug called TMA-2 from this. This is 10x stronger than Mescaline, a very clean psychoactive at the end of potency of Phenethlyamine scale.

Cinnamon – Contains a drug called MHDC, now being used to treat diabetics as it increases glucose absorbtion and provides a minor brain boost because of this.

Cassia – Comes from the word ‘Split’. Is unusual because it’s also Cinnamon, just a different type and it’s odd to put 2 types of the same drug in a psychoactive cocktail. I theorise this may actually be a drug called ‘Ibogaine’ extracted from the Taberanthe Iboga roots. It’s used by the Buiti tribe in Africa in their ‘Crack open the head’ ceremony’ – similar to the word split. Ibogaine is a powerful anti-addictive, with growing use in Ibogaine Clinics treating heroin and crack addicts, which would seem logical to include in a HAO. The function of Ibogaine is fascinating – using laymans terms; not only does it give you a visual trip that helps you learn, it also eliminates the brain neurons which have become addicted to the 4 worst types of drugs for you – alchohol, nicotine, amphetamines and opiates!

All you need is an solvent (Dimethyl Sulfoxide, or DMSO for instance) to carry these drugs dermatologically through the skin, and the oil would be complete.

These are just theories, I think it’s very hard to tell the exact source and correct ingredients for the oil due to the ‘heavens and earth’ changing over so much time, along with Jerome’s translations of the 3rd century having admitted errors copying the exact herbs and plants used.

I do believe this was some sort of psychoactive method of drug administration, and the precise ’spirit of God’ needs further investigation, and that it is one of our basic human rights involved with freedom of religion to research this. Over here, this is covered by Article 9 of the European Convention on Human Rights. I expect you yanks have something similar

I have actually re-created the oil to my recipe above, including THC and TMA-2 to the art of a chemist and know experientially that I’m on the right lines by combining threshold doses of the suggested ingredients and achieving elevated levels of consciousness through this that would be highly beneficial to a King, Prophet, or Anointed Elect… anyhow, I don’t intend to intrude on your beliefs, simply offer mine for consideration that we might broaden this field of research and look further and further into this crucial subject matter.

Well I just heard in the news that a politician in the State of Florida is planing to introduce a bill to make yet another plant of God a Felony, (Salvia Divorium). Although I have never used salvia I have friends who grow it in their gardens. I suppose they will be confiscating these folks homes next. From Newt Gingrich trying to pass a bill to give the death penalty for marijuana, to a new disease the Florida University of Gainesville is trying to release a upon the planet which they say will only destroy marijuana, to yet another plant becoming a Felony. Wow!!!!!!!

Personally I pray for them at Judgement day when they have to justify all this to their maker. Oh I am sure they are all great Christians loved by family and friends. I am sure they all go to Church every Sunday (”The Lords Day” LOL). Yet they build more prisons. They break apart families, and separate children from their parents. It is the Anti-Christ which declares others Heretics, Burns people at the stake, and throws people in prison over plants given to us by God. These wonderful Christians who deny the very word of God which grants all seed bearing herbs as meat in Genesis, are not content in their own deceptions but must spread the lies of evil upon all.

Yes we are witnessing the unfolding of Revelations before our very eyes, which declares the return of the Seal of God and the Holy incense, and the anointing of 144,000 Jews as Christians with the Holy Oil. As for the rest, they are under one mystery, which is the Day of the Lord as spoken of in Revelation.

FYI, G-d is not an advocate, nor does G-d advocate. The Holy Anointing Oil is after a pattern that G-d conveyed to Moses; that pattern is embodied throughout references to the Mosaic Covenant. Etymological evidence, confirmed by one of the most, if not the most reputable institutes of learning in the world, state that kaneh bosm = cannabis, linguistically. Furthermore, to designate the term “holy” in the negative – that is, in relation to the condition of “being free from” – denotes a superficial understanding of the connotation of belonging to, derived from, or associated with G-d. Associations with corruption are not entertained by the essence of “Holy” any more than the Seasons can, independently, change their order.

Your knowlege of Linguistics is most welcome. I really dont have the time to go into a linguistic debate on this at the moment, as I have just started yet another business a couple months ago. Besides all that is posted on my website. It is nice to have someone like you in the discussion here. I thought your comments to Brother Eloy was great.

Regarding Christain History, especially early Christian History, It has been my hobby for over 30 years. This Film came about by trying to understand why Churches dont use the Holy Oil as described in Exodus. Although Orthodox Churches use Holy Oil in Baptism they all use Oil that is different than that described in Exodus. Then you have to understand the development of Baby Baptism, the development of Protestant Baptism, Gnostic teachings on baptism, Kaneh Bosem, and many other issues. It was quite a task, but one which I felt compelled to do. The Film and this website was the result.

Regarding Eloys thoughts that this is cane balsam, I just know this to be wrong. The bosem used here is fragrant. There are bibles out there that translate this as “Fragrant Cane”. If Bible translators translate the bosem here as fragrant then how can Eloy claim it is Balsam? I can understand how he comes to the conclusion but he is not correct here.

I was enjoying our incense discussion from above. Sorry it has taken me so long to return to that subject.

To me the Burning Bush of Moses adds some significance to the matter of the incense and being baptized in the cloud.

It seems that a full Baptism would include a washing (Baptism with water), perhaps symbolic of the passage of the children of Israel through the Red(Reed) Sea, receiving of the Spirit by inhaling the smoke of the Burning Bush, which later may have played a significant part in the Incense of the Alter, and then a sealing of the Spirit by Chrismation using the Holy Anointing Oil.

Sorry if my testing of our Brother Eloy’s language and linguistic experience was overly obnoxious, but I wanted to get a better picture of what his level of understanding is.

It is one thing to be a polyglot (multilingual) and quite another to understand and engage in the science of linguistics. A linguist might only know one language but has training in complex linguistic concepts and terms, while some one who is not a linguist might have a good command of a dozen or more languages and still not have any grounding in the science of linguistics proper.

After 15 years of hard work, taking an Intro to Linguistics course, constantly wrestling with things like the Algonquian Indian verb, analogical change like we have in Kaneh-Bosem, and works by the likes of Otto Jesperson, Leonard Bloomfield, Carl Brockelmann, Joseph Greenberg and Einar Haugen just to name a couple I believe that I fall into both categories.

All of this being said I believe you Brother Terry to be far my superior in the realm of Church History and History in general. We all bring our own tools that the good Lord has helped us forge, and we all still have much to learn.

Regarding misinterpretation or wresting of Scripture:
Any misinterpretation or wresting of Scripture concerning the etymology in question originates in the Septuagint. The oldest Greek version of the Old Testament; said to have been translated from the Hebrew by Jewish scholars at the request of Ptolemy II, the son of Ptolemy I and king of Egypt (circa 309-247 BC). Although the tradition preserved in the pseudepigraphical Letter of Aristeas which connects the Septuagint translation of the Old Testament into Greek with his patronage is probably not historical. In Biblical studies, the Pseudepigrapha are Jewish religious works written c 200 BC to 200 AD, not all of which are literally pseudepigraphical. They are distinguished from the Deuterocanonica (Catholic and Orthodox) or Apocrypha (Protestant), the fourteen books that appear in the Septuagint and Vulgate but not in the Hebrew Bible or in Protestant Bibles.

Given the esteem & relationship the Jewish people had/have for/with the Tanach, ie. its' Sacredness, it is highly unlikely that the Jewish scribes would have provided in the Septuagint a correct or accurate list of ingredients, considering Exodus 30:37-38 states: "And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the LORD. Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people."

If ostracism and worse is the promise to interlopers within, by what logic or line-of-reason would make it even conceivable for the sacred formulation thereof to be made available by Jewish scholars to the Hellenic?

The following article on hemp, from Encyclopaedia Britannica, 11th ed. (1910-1911) states, “Wild hemp still grows on the banks of the lower Ural, and the Volga, near the Caspian Sea. It extends to Persia, the Altai range and northern and western China.
